In the iron and steel industry, the main equipment using gunning materials include converter, open hearth furnace, electric furnace, ladle, vacuum degassing device (RH, DH), tundish, tapping ditch, blast furnace, heating furnace and soaking pit. The gunning materials for steelmaking system are mainly alkaline materials, while the ironmaking system is mainly aluminosilicate and aluminum silicon carbide. The main equipment using gunning materials in non-ferrous metallurgical industry is copper smelting, Nickel Converter. When using refractory gunning materials, appropriate gunning materials and gunning methods shall be selected according to the type and use position of thermal equipment. Gunning materials can give good use effect only when combined with appropriate gunning machinery.
