Thermal Expansion Of High Alumina Bricks

Apr 16, 2024

The thermal expansion of high alumina bricks refers to the physical properties of their volume or length increasing with temperature. The thermal expansion of high alumina bricks can be expressed by linear expansion rate and linear expansion coefficient, as well as by volume expansion rate and volume expansion coefficient. Linear expansion rate refers to the relative rate of change (%) in the length of a specimen from room temperature to the test temperature. The coefficient of linear expansion refers to the relative rate of change in the length of a sample for every 1 ℃ increase from room temperature to the test temperature.
The thermal expansion of high alumina bricks should be measured in accordance with the national standard GB/T 7320-2008.
The thermal expansion of high alumina bricks depends on their chemical composition, mineral composition, and microstructure, and also varies with the temperature range.
The thermal expansion of high alumina bricks has a direct impact on their thermal shock resistance and volume stability, and is one of the important properties that should be considered when formulating firing systems and using high alumina bricks.
