Among the physical and chemical indicators of high alumina bricks and high alumina castables, the fire resistance is relatively not very important.
The quality of refractory bricks depends on the indicators, such as aluminum content, strength, bulk density, and load softening temperature. Generally, the importance of fire resistance is not as significant. The indicators of high aluminum castables also depend on aluminum content, bulk density, setting time, strength, and linear change rate, and the relative importance of fire resistance.
And some user units also have requirements for fire resistance, because fire resistance is an easily achievable indicator in refractory bricks or castables. But there are also changes in material grade and changes in fire resistance.
So what are the important indicators of high alumina bricks and high alumina castables? The main indicators of refractory bricks are size, aluminum content, strength, load softening temperature, and bulk density. The main indicators of high aluminum castable are aluminum content, strength, and setting time.
If the high alumina refractory casting material lacks fluidity, it cannot solidify. Other indicators are equivalent to having no high or low effect. Because the pouring material made is simply unusable. There is no way to talk about anything else. However, the size of refractory bricks is not good, making it impossible to carry out masonry construction. There are no other indicators to talk about.
So, whether it is high alumina bricks or high alumina castables, the quality should be determined based on the temperature and erosion situation of the kiln. We cannot simply focus on the level of indicators, as high-quality castables are relatively expensive. And the indicators are also related to the grade of the raw materials. Products with good raw materials have a higher substrate.
The fire resistance index is not particularly important in high alumina bricks or high alumina castables for this reason, because the products produced are made according to the usage temperature. Generally, the fire resistance index should be higher than the usage temperature by 400 ℃ or more, and many laboratories do not even measure the fire resistance index.
