The refractory materials used for intermediate packaging can be divided into three categories based on their functions:
The first type is the lining material, mainly composed of insulation layer, * * layer, and working layer;
The second type is steady flow components, including slag dams, slag blocking plates, impact plates, etc;
The third type is the flow control part, which is divided into plug, sliding nozzle, fixed diameter nozzle, and invasive nozzle. For small billet continuous casting, the core of * * continuous casting is high pulling speed, which requires maximizing the continuous operation rate and pouring speed of the continuous casting machine on the basis of meeting the quality requirements of the molten steel, in order to achieve high billet temperature and improve billet quality. These technical indicators put forward two requirements for the refractory materials of the intermediate package, one is high performance, and the other is long service life.
