Refractory plastic is not only used for wrapping furnace bottom water pipes in China, but also for heating furnace tops, burner bricks, homogenizing furnace mouths, and flue arch roofs, all of which have achieved satisfactory results. It has the following advantages:
1. High refractoriness: Aluminum silicate refractory plastics have a refractoriness of 1750-1850 degrees, surpassing clay bricks and reaching the level of high alumina bricks. They can be used in areas that come into direct contact with flames.
2. Resistant to rapid cold and heat, it is good for use in areas with drastic temperature changes and will not crack or peel off. For example, the furnace wall at the mouth of the homogenization furnace can be used with refractory bricks for a lifespan of only six months to one year, while the use of refractory plastic can last for more than one and a half years.
3. Good insulation function. Plastic has a lower thermal conductivity than bricks, resulting in less heat loss, which can reduce fuel consumption and improve furnace temperature. If the water pipes of the continuous heating furnace are wrapped with plastic, it can reduce fuel consumption by 20%, increase furnace output value by 15% -20%, and reduce black marks on the water pipes. The amount of cooling water has also been reduced by two-thirds. The cost of bandaging only comes from saving fuel, which can be quickly recovered.
4. Good slag resistance can resist the corrosion of oxidized iron scale and slag, and the falling slag is not easily bonded and can be easily removed.
5. Good earthquake resistance and wear resistance are used to wrap water pipes and walking beams of walking furnaces, which are not easily dropped or damaged.
