Application of mullite brick in glass furnace

Mar 13, 2023

1. Gas regenerator grid

At present, the grid of the designed gas regenerator is made of clay bricks, with a general service life of 3 to 4 years, which can not meet the demand of longer and longer kiln life. Replacing the grid bricks not only has high labor intensity, but also will cause damage to other parts of the kiln. Using a certain amount of sintered mullite bricks on the top of the gas grid can improve the service life of the kiln.

2. Furnace arch and bottom lattice

Condensate of flue gas will be deposited at the bottom of the regenerator lattice. The longer the kiln age, the more frequent the operation of the bottom regenerator. The furnace arch and bottom lattice brick need to experience more thermal shock. The good thermal shock performance and corrosion resistance of sintered mullite brick can improve the service life of this part.

3. Operation hole

Mullite brick has good thermal shock stability and high temperature strength, and can be used in various operation holes of the furnace, such as observation hole, spray gun hole, air supply hole, etc.
