Magnesia brick is an alkaline refractory. The main raw materials are sintered magnesia and fused magnesia. It is divided into fired magnesia brick, unburned magnesia brick and reconstituted magnesia brick. According to the different MgO content, it is divided into mgo-90%, mgo-92%, mgo-95% and mgo-97% different brands.
In order to improve the properties of magnesia brick, Al2O3, Fe2O3 and TiO2 were added in production When two kinds of magnesia ingredients are selected, it is better to add high-quality magnesia with high purity in the form of fine powder to improve the slag resistance and permeability resistance of the product. The binder is usually pulp, brine and magnesium sulfate solution, with the addition amount of about 3%.
Magnesia brick is fired in weak oxidizing atmosphere at 1500-1600 ℃.
Magnesia brick is often used in steel-making furnace lining, ferroalloy furnace, nonferrous metal smelting, lime kiln and glass kiln regenerator because of its good high-temperature performance and strong alkaline slag resistance.
