Production And Application Of Silica Brick

Silica brick is a kind of acid-washed refractory material fired at high temperature with silica as raw material, lime milk, iron scale and pulp waste liquid as binder and mineralizer. It has strong resistance to acid slag, but is strongly eroded by alkaline slag, and is easy to be damaged by Al2O3, K2O, Na2O and other oxides, and has good resistance to CaO, FeO, Fe2O3 and other oxides. The silica brick has high load softening temperature, small volume expansion, and good thermal conductivity. The residual expansion ensures that the masonry has good air tightness and structural strength. At present, it is still a good furnace building material for coke oven, glass furnace, blast furnace hot blast furnace, nonferrous smelting and pickling steelmaking furnace

According to the production process, silica brick is divided into general silica brick, high-density silica brick, high thermal conductivity silica brick, etc.

Selection of silica raw materials: the content of SiO2 is high, not less than 96%, the crystalline particles are small, the expansion is small, and the impurity content is less than 4%. The conversion rate and the degree of looseness of silica during the heating process have a significant impact on the production of silica bricks. The conversion rate of silica is often the main reason for the cracking of silica bricks when fired. Silica with large crystalline particles expands more violently when fired

The forming power of silica brick shall not be less than 100-150Mpa, and the density of brick blank shall be controlled at 2.2-2.3g/cm3.

The silica brick is fired in a weak reducing atmosphere, the maximum firing temperature is lower than 1430 ℃, and the sufficient heat preservation time generally fluctuates between 20-48 hours
