To improve the quality of insulation refractory brick products produced by the burnt out additive method, taking the insulation clay brick making process as an example, the measures that can be taken mainly include the following aspects:
(1) The selection of insulation clay brick materials should consider their bonding performance, plasticity, and firing shrinkage, and pay attention to having sufficient fire resistance. The properties of siliceous or high alumina clay refractory materials vary, and several types of clays with different properties can be mixed to complement each other's strengths and weaknesses.
(2) Various methods can be used to improve the bonding properties of clay and the plasticity of refractory brick blanks. Such as fine grinding, weathering, mud trapping, adding electrolytes or binders, etc.
(3) Add plasticizers, such as inorganic or organic substances like bentonite.
(4) The particles of combustible additives should not be too fine. Different types of additives have different particle shapes and properties, and their performance in preparing insulation refractory bricks is also different. The selection of particle size should be different, and multiple additives can be mixed and used.
