Innovative direction of refractories for cement and glass industry

Jan 13, 2020

The world's cement production has increased from 800 million tons in 1980 to 1.8 billion tons in 2003, and is expected to grow at an average annual growth rate of 3.6% by 2020. The change of production technology in cement industry not only greatly improves the efficiency and production capacity of cement production, but also puts forward new requirements for refractories. The consumption of refractories per ton of cement has dropped from 1.2kg in the past to 0.58kg at present, and it is expected to drop to 0.5kg in 2005. In addition to the traditional magnesia brick, magnesia chrome brick, high alumina brick and clay brick, the low cement castable has more obvious application effect in the kiln head and kiln tail, cooler pipe, pipe elbow and the bottom of decomposer.

The main problem of refractories for glass industry is the development of low temperature melting. The development of melting technology, oxy fuel combustion technology and electrofusion technology of arsenic free materials put forward more strict requirements for refractories.

In recent years, the service life of glass furnace has been greatly improved, and the float production line of flat glass can be as long as 10 years. The service life of ordinary glass furnace is 5-7 years, and that of special glass furnace is 2 years. Therefore, refractories must have the functions of high corrosion resistance, little impact on glass quality, no pollution to the environment, stable quality, and obvious energy saving effect.
