Aluminum magnesium carbon brick is a refractory material made mainly from high-grade high alumina alumina, corundum sand, magnesia sand, and flake graphite, and belongs to the refractory products in the metallurgical field. Its chemical composition includes 60% to 69% Al ₂ O3 MgO7%~14%,C 5%~12%, Mainly used for ladle lining, continuous casting intermediate ladle, and external refining equipment. This material is made by high-pressure molding with resin binder and heat treatment at 200-300 ℃. Antioxidants such as silicon powder and aluminum powder are added during production to improve its performance. It has strong resistance to slag erosion, excellent resistance to peeling, and residual linear expansion caused by spinel formation at high temperatures, which can effectively suppress slag infiltration and maintain structural stability. In the application of Baosteel's 300t ladle, the service life can reach 50-85 times, with a maximum of 102 times, significantly better than traditional refractory materials. Its physical indicators include parameters such as bulk density ≥ 2.96g/cm ³, compressive strength ≥ 40MPa, and AMC-70 grade with Al ₂ O3 content ≥ 70%

Manufacturing process of aluminum magnesium carbon brick
Aluminum magnesium carbon bricks are made from special high alumina bauxite as raw material, which contains a certain proportion of SiO2 and other impurities, and has an low-density structure and poor resistance to slag erosion. To improve its slag resistance, electric melting or sintered corundum can be used instead of some special grade high alumina bauxite. To improve the oxidation resistance and high-temperature strength of the product, a small amount of metal powder is added, but this reduces the thermal shock resistance and increases the content of flake graphite.
