What Are The Determining Factors For The Price Of High Alumina Refractory Bricks?

Mar 18, 2026

There are many types of refractory bricks, among which the more common ones are clay bricks, high alumina bricks, and so on. High alumina refractory brick is a name that distinguishes it from other refractory bricks in terms of material. According to the different aluminum contents, the boundary is set at 48% aluminum content. Those with aluminum content below 48% are generally called clay refractory bricks, while those with aluminum content above 48% are called high alumina refractory bricks.

High alumina refractory bricks are divided into different grade standards, and are also classified based on their aluminum content. Refractory bricks with a content of 48-60% of secondary aluminum are called third grade high alumina refractory bricks (third grade high alumina bricks), those with a content of 60-75% of secondary aluminum are called second grade high alumina refractory bricks (second grade high alumina bricks), and those with a content of 75% or more of secondary aluminum are called first grade high alumina refractory bricks (first grade high alumina bricks). According to the usage situation in the application industry, there are higher standards for the aluminum content of high alumina refractory bricks, and those with an aluminum content of over 80% are often referred to as special grade high alumina bricks.

The production process of high alumina refractory bricks is basically the same, and the physical and chemical performance indicators of different grades of high alumina refractory bricks are different, including refractoriness, load softening temperature, aluminum content, bulk density, compressive strength, and linear change rate. Among these physical and chemical indicators, many purchasing customers only ask for aluminum content and refractoriness when purchasing, which is actually wrong. The main factors determining the service life of high alumina refractory bricks are aluminum content and load softening temperature. Load softening temperature determines the ambient temperature of the brick's use, because the refractoriness of high alumina refractory bricks can generally reach 1700 or above. The softening temperature of the load is quite different, with third grade high aluminum bricks possibly only reaching over 1400 degrees, while special grade high aluminum bricks can reach 1550 degrees.
