What Are The Classification Methods For Lightweight Insulation Bricks

May 20, 2024

Lightweight insulation brick is a type of insulation material, which refers to insulation bricks with high porosity, low volume density, and low thermal conductivity. The characteristics of lightweight insulation bricks are porous structure (porosity generally 40-85%) and high insulation properties.
(1) Classified by volumetric density. Lightweight insulation bricks with a volume density of 0.4-1.3g/cm3; Materials below 0.4g/cm3 are ultra lightweight insulation bricks.
(2) Classified by usage temperature. Using low-temperature insulation materials with temperatures ranging from 600 to 900 ℃; 900~1200 ℃ is a medium temperature insulation material; Materials that exceed 1200 ℃ are high-temperature insulation materials.
(3) Classify according to the shape of the product. One type is fixed lightweight insulation bricks, including clay insulation bricks, high aluminum insulation bricks, siliceous insulation bricks, and some pure oxide lightweight insulation bricks; Another type is amorphous lightweight insulation bricks, such as lightweight insulation castables.
