In the glass kiln heat storage chamber, commonly used insulation materials include lightweight clay bricks, aluminum silicate fiberboard, lightweight calcium silicate board, and insulation coatings. The evaluation of the insulation effect of the above four materials cannot be based solely on the data provided by the manufacturer, nor can the thermal conductivity of several materials be simply measured and compared. The most convincing approach would be to use the same thickness and area of the above-mentioned materials for insulation at the same location on the exterior wall of the heat storage room, and then evaluate the insulation effect of the insulation project by checking the surface temperature and heat dissipation loss of the insulation materials according to GB/T8174-1897. The original plan was to conduct the above experiment on site in the melting workshop. However, it was found that due to frequent changes in the furnace flame direction, the temperature inside the heat storage chamber was constantly changing (belonging to an unstable temperature field), and various factors such as environmental temperature and unstable airflow, the measured data became meaningless and could not reflect the actual heat dissipation loss of the kiln.
