Castables with high physical and chemical indicators have good strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, but their prices are also high. But it is not suitable for all regions and temperatures.
The choice is determined based on different temperatures, atmospheres, and degrees of erosion. For example, in an area of 1100 ℃, using corundum castables is not a good choice because corundum refractory castables have high physical and chemical strength, but their strength is relatively brittle, making them suitable for use at temperatures above 1400 ℃.
Of course, in high temperature situations, it is still necessary to choose castable materials that are suitable for the same temperature. Due to its high price, good performance indicators, and long service life, the performance of refractory castables can be fully utilized at appropriate temperatures.
When the atmosphere is different, choose refractory castables with different atmospheres, and choose acidic castables with the same atmosphere for acidic atmospheres; Choose alkaline atmosphere castables for alkaline atmosphere. If the corrosion is severe, choose corrosion-resistant casting materials; If the wear is severe, choose a casting material with good wear resistance.
Some casting material manufacturers only rely on certain target indicators in the book to request recommendations and quotations from customers, which is actually unreasonable. Suitable castables should be selected based on the actual temperature, atmosphere, and erosion of the furnace lining.
