Four Factors For Prolonging The Service Life Of Firebrick

Feb 24, 2020

Four links to improve the service life of firebrick: production, inspection and testing in strict accordance with manufacturing standards. The higher the content of Gr2o3 in refractory brick, the stronger the erosion resistance. Therefore, the corrosion resistance of Cr al Zr brick can be improved by increasing the content of gr2o3 in refractory brick. Increase the volume density of refractory brick, refine the pores, reduce the way of chemical erosion, so as to resist slag erosion.

Take water-proof, moisture-proof, shock proof, rust proof, extrusion proof and rough loading and unloading proof measures for the supplied goods to ensure the safe transportation of the goods to the destination. The additives matched with the refractory cement shall be packed in bags in the fire mud and shall not be mixed. Masonry link: ensure that the inner surface is smooth, the perpendicularity, roundness and overall centrality of the cylinder wall meet the masonry requirements, and that the masonry is inspected at any time. The slurry used for building fire facing brick shall be the slurry similar to the chemical composition of fire facing brick.

Check whether the refractory mud and refractory castable are out of date and easy to use, and leave a certain gap between the firebrick and other refractory bricks, so as to be able to move relatively freely under the condition of thermal expansion. Ensure that the longitudinal mortar joints between the adjacent refractory bricks are not more than 2mm, and the mortar joints between the upper and lower layers, the inner and outer layers are staggered with each other, and it is not allowed to connect the fire facing surface to the wall of the vaporizing furnace correspondingly and form a horizontal straight line. It is forbidden to carry out decorative repair on the surface of the brick.

Coal type selection: the Cao in the slag is more prominent than other oxides in the erosion of refractory bricks. Selecting high-quality coal with low CaO content can improve the corrosion resistance of Cr al Zr bricks. However, the low content of Cao in coal will lead to the high ash melting point of coal and block the slag mouth. So CaO content is not easy to be too low.

Operation link, oven drying: strictly follow the oven drying curve to prevent the firebrick from displacement due to the rapid change of furnace temperature. Slag hanging: gr2o3 in the furnace brick reacts with Fe2O3, AI2O3, FeO and MEO in the slag to form composite spinel (Mg, Fe) O (AI, GR, Fe) 2O3, which forms a compact layer on the refractory surface. The molten slag makes the high-temperature air flow in the furnace not directly contact with the refractory brick surface, which can prevent the slag erosion.
