Several commonly used materials for cement kiln castables include high alumina castables, corundum castables, and insulation castables. Cement kilns generally choose castables based on the distribution of stress and thermal stress inside the kiln.
1. Corundum steel fiber casting material
The corundum steel fiber casting material is mainly made of refractory aggregate (with an AL2O3 content greater than 85%, and its main crystal phase is corundum), and is prepared by adding an appropriate amount of coagulant, dispersant, and stainless steel fiber.
The main characteristics of corundum castable are high strength, good high-temperature performance, stable volume, low thermal conductivity, strong resistance to slag penetration, erosion and wear resistance, convenient construction, strong overall integrity of the furnace structure, and not affected by reducing gases such as H2 and CO. It is currently a wear-resistant and refractory material used in CFB fluidized bed boilers.
2. Insulation castable
The insulation castables used in cement kilns include ordinary insulation castables, high-strength insulation castables, and ordinary and low cement alkali resistant insulation castables. High alumina cement is usually used as a binder in castables.
Ordinary thermal insulation castables use expanded perlite, expanded frog stone, and waste lightweight bricks as aggregates. High strength thermal insulation castables use refractory clay ceramic particles, fly ash ceramic particles, shale ceramic particles, etc. as aggregates. Alkali resistant and heat-insulating casting materials are made of alkali resistant lightweight aggregates.
Ordinary and low cement alkali resistant thermal insulation castables can be applied to preheaters in small and medium-sized kilns and other parts that require alkali resistant thermal insulation.
