The invention relates to cordierite mullite shed slab and a preparation method thereof. The technical scheme is that the matrix powder is prepared by mixing 30-45wt% talc powder, 10-20wt% alumina powder and 40-50wt% Suzhou soil together with 8-10wt% zirconium sol. The cordierite mullite shed slab was prepared by mixing 40-60wt% mullite aggregate, 10-20wt% zircon and 30-40wt% matrix powder with 5-10wt% binder and 4-6wt% water. The mixture was evenly mixed, pressed and dried. The cordierite mullite shed slab was then heated for 8-10h at 1300-1340 C. The cordierite mullite shed slab prepared by the method has the advantages of simple process, energy saving and environmental protection, good thermal shock stability, high strength and long service life.
