Zirconia brick is a refractory product produced by using zirconia as a main raw material. The manufacturing method mainly includes two methods of firing and melting. There are three crystal forms of zirconia: monoclinic, tetragonal, and cubic. When zirconia is heated to about 1100 ° C, a crystal transformation occurs, which changes from a monoclinic type to a tetragonal type, accompanied by a volume shrinkage of 7%, and vice versa. The tetragonal zirconia will have a cubic crystal form above 2300 °C. The densities of the three crystal forms were 5.68 g/cm3 (monoclinic), 6.10 g/cm3 (quaternary), and 6.27 g/cm3 (cubic), respectively.
Zirconium oxide has a high melting point, high temperature structural strength, acid and alkali corrosion resistance.
1:dense zirconia brick
It is formed by isostatic pressing, and its technical index is ZrO2>65%, the apparent porosity is <2.0%, the bulk density is about 4.25g/cm3, and the temperature in E glass exceeds 1370°C. It is used in the E glass unit kiln to contact the bottom of the melting section where the temperature of the glass is slightly lower, the transition passage, the bottom of the forming passage, and the forming passage flow tank and the drain tray brick. In addition, dense zirconium bricks are also used as backing bricks for dense chrome bricks.
In recent years, China's refractory enterprises have introduced foreign technology and equipment, and have also produced sintered compact zirconium bricks formed by isostatic pressing, which has been applied to domestic glass and glass fiber furnaces.
2:standard zirconium brick
The brick has a ZrO2 content of about 66% and a bulk density of 3.7 g/cm3, and has good thermal stability and peeling resistance. The chest wall and the back wall of the feeding port area where the powder erosion is serious are used, and the chest wall and the top cover brick and the burner brick of the hole brick and the passage flame space are observed in the melting furn.
