At present, the use of natural raw materials is decreasing in some developed countries, while the use of high-purity synthetic raw materials is increasing. The reason is that the proportion of amorphous refractories using synthetic raw materials is increasing, while the output of clay brick, high alumina brick and zircon brick using natural raw materials is decreasing. Users have higher requirements for the service life of refractories. In this respect, high-purity synthetic raw materials are more able to meet the needs.
Several representative synthetic materials developed recently:
1, The mullite based clinker, which is made of kaolin and industrial alumina by wet grinding, vacuum extrusion, and then calcined at high temperature, has good thermo mechanical properties and good application prospects in kiln furniture and amorphous refractories.
2, The cordierite clinker with good crystal development can be obtained by wet grinding, vacuum extrusion and high temperature calcination with kaolin and Caustic magnesia as raw materials, which has a good application prospect in kiln furniture.
3, Due to the development of clean steel, low carbon steel, high oxygen steel and stainless steel, the basic refractories containing free calcium are paid more and more attention, for example, magnesia calcium clinker.
4, Bauxite based fused corundum, bauxite based fused mullite, bauxite based fused mullite, zirconia, fused corundum, zirconia, fused magnesia and other synthetic materials have also developed rapidly.
