Silicon-mullite brick made of mullite and silicon carbide as main raw materials are used in large cement rotary kilns. The products have good wear resistance, corrosion resistance of Cao slag,the effect of producing protective layer is very good and good protection for kiln iron shell.
In the process of sintering and using, silicon carbide oxidizes to produce silicon dioxide and reacts with aluminum oxide to form mullite, which can effectively improve the density and strength of the products, form a protective film on the surface of the products, organize silicon carbide to further oxidize, and improve the thermal shock stability, wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the products. The service life of the product in cement rotary kiln is 3-4 times of that of high alumina brick.The wear resistance coefficient of the product is more than 5 times of that of phosphate high alumina brick. The effect is better than that of magnesia chrome brick when the transition zone and cooling zone of cement kiln are changed into silicon molybdenum brick. The mineral phase of silicon mullite brick is mainly composed of corundum phase, silicon carbide phase and mullite phase. The density of product structure is high, and the bulk density is 2.7-3.0g/cm3. The density, strength and wear resistance of silicon mullite brick are significantly better than those of high alumina brick and magnesia alumina spinel brick.The load softening temperature of the product is high, generally at 1450 ℃, up to 1650 ℃, which is higher than that of the commonly used high alumina brick and phosphate high alumina brick. Continuous SiO2 dense layer is formed on the surface of the product, which prevents the penetration of molten materials and does not react with cement materials. Therefore, the product has strong anti-corrosion ability, does not peel off or fracture during use, and can significantly improve the service life. Its service life is up to 15 months. In addition, Si Mo brick is widely used in steel, nonferrous metals, chemical industry and so on.
