Adding ZrO2 powder can improve the thermal shock resistance. This is based on the difference of thermal expansion coefficient between ZrO2 and Cr2O3 and the principle of phase transformation toughening, which makes the products produce microcracks in the process of heating and cooling, prevents the products from cracking due to thermal stress and mechanical stress, and plays a role of buffering stress.
