The taphole is the only channel for molten steel to enter the ladle from the converter or electric furnace. During tapping, it must withstand the friction erosion and oxidation erosion of high temperature molten steel and slag, resulting in a low life of the tap hole, which requires constant repair and replacement. The structure of tapping hole is generally composed of seating brick, filler and pipe brick. At present, the technology is to use integral pipe type taphole magnesia carbon brick. The magnesia carbon bricks at the whole tapping hole are made of high-grade fused magnesia (MgO ≥ 98.5%) and high-quality graphite as the main raw materials, with B4C, metal A1 powder and other composite antioxidants added. The critical particle size of the raw materials is 2mm. They are formed by isostatic pressing and then impregnated with asphalt. The product has good high temperature resistance, erosion resistance, wear resistance, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, and has a long service life of 130 heats on average.
