Why Phosphate Refractory Bricks Are Also Called Phosphate Wear-resistant Bricks

Oct 19, 2022

Phosphate refractory bricks are produced by baking at 550-600 ℃ with phosphoric acid or light aluminum phosphate as the binder. They are unburned refractory bricks and belong to alkaline products. They are often used in cement rotary kilns, shaft kilns and lime kilns

During the production of phosphate bricks, the mixed materials must be trapped for more than 16 hours, because during the trapping process, the phosphoric acid reacts with the iron in the mud to exhaust gas, which is not easy to produce spalling during molding, and will not stick to the mold, causing pitting

In the baking process, the binder of phosphate refractory bricks hardens. When heated to a certain temperature, dehydration polymerization reaction will occur, forming a strong adhesion, making the density and strength of the binder higher. At 1200-1300 ℃, the wear resistance is further improved, and the service life of the furnace is increased. Therefore, phosphate refractory bricks are also called phosphate wear resistant bricks.
