Perlite insulation bricks are widely used as lining insulation materials for various industrial kilns. Due to the high quality and low price of this type of insulation brick, its application scope is gradually expanding. The insulation performance of this type of insulation material increases with density at the same temperature (below 400 ℃). For temperatures above 400 ℃, the data shows that materials with higher density have higher thermal conductivity and poorer insulation performance than those with lower density.
experiment
Experimental materials
Using standard bricks (230 * 115 * 65mm) as test blocks and aluminum phosphate Al2 (PO4) 3 as a binder, five perlite insulation bricks with densities of 150kg/m3 and 400kg/m3 were produced.
instrument
(1) Two top open muffle furnaces with a power of 5kw, with an upper opening size of 117 * 233mm,
(2) Controllable silicon temperature controller;
(3) Digital thermometer.
Experimental steps
Put the prepared insulation bricks into the furnace, as shown in Figure 1
Seal the gap in Figure 1 with loose perlite, with a thickness of 5cm. Control the power of the electric furnace at a constant value (5kw), record the temperature changes of the furnace at regular intervals, and use a thermometer to measure the temperature values on the surface of the two sealed insulation bricks. Then, make a time function diagram of the rise and fall temperature, as well as a time diagram of the surface temperature of the insulation bricks, to compare the insulation performance of the two types of insulation bricks.
