The Origin And Development History Of Permeable Brick

May 19, 2020

Permeable brick originated in Holland. In the process of building a city around the sea by the Dutch, it was found that the ground after draining the sea water would cause continuous land subsidence due to the long-term lack of contact with water. Once the dike on the coastline is washed away, the sea water will rush to the city which is much lower than the sea level and submerge the whole coastal city. In order to make the land not sink any more, The Dutch made a kind of small pavement brick 100 mm long, 200 mm wide, 50 mm high or 60 mm high, which was laid on the street surface, and a gap of 2 mm was reserved between the bricks. In this way, when it rained, the rainwater would penetrate into the ground from the gap between the bricks. This was the later famous Dutch brick.

origin:

After that, American shobroko company invented a kind of road brick with strong water absorption function. When the brick is filled with water, the water will drain to the ground.. but the drainage speed of this kind of brick is very slow, and it can hardly help in rainstorm weather.. this kind of brick is also called shobroko road brick

In the nineties, Shubuluoke brick appeared in China. According to the principle of Shubuluoke brick, the technicians of Beijing Municipal Department invented a kind of road brick which is full of permeable holes and has good water permeability. The rainwater will flow underground from the tiny holes in the brick

After another period of time, in order to strengthen the compressive and flexural strength of the brick, the technicians added the cement and the adhesive admixture with the crushed stone as the raw material to make the permeable speed and strength meet the needs of the urban road surface. This kind of brick is the permeable brick used on the municipal road surface. The price of this kind of brick is relatively cheaper than that of the ceramic permeable brick fired with ceramics. It is suitable for most regional projects

Due to the good water permeability of Dutch brick, it is widely used in urban road reconstruction. It is also a hot industry for many investors.
