Sintered mullite brick is divided into pure mullite brick, mullite corundum brick and corundum mullite brick. Its Al2O3 content is 68-90%. Mullite clinker is synthesized by sintering, fine powder is the main raw material, and the sintering temperature is 1550 ℃. When mullite clinker is synthesized by electric melting, the sintering temperature is 1650 ℃.
With the increase of Al2O3 content in mullite products, its high-temperature performance improves, while the amount of flux increases, its high-temperature performance decreases. Therefore, strictly controlling the content of impurity oxides, especially K2O, Na2O and Fe2O3, is an important measure to obtain high-performance mullite bricks.
Mullite bricks are widely used in hot blast furnaces, heating furnaces and carbon black reaction furnaces in metallurgical industry
