There are multiple options for selecting refractory materials for the lining of alumina rotary kilns. All refractory bricks can be used for easy disassembly and replacement without damaging the kiln body. It is also possible to use all cast materials, so that the kiln body has good density. Another method is to combine castable materials with refractory prefabricated components, which is more convenient for construction than castable materials and does not require the use of additional molds.
Pouring of low cement castable for alumina rotary kiln:
When selecting full kiln castables, refractory castables should have good density. Low cement castables should be added with a certain amount of corundum to improve the airtightness of the kiln lining, especially for rotary kilns that belong to dynamic kilns, which have good overall integrity and long service life. However, during construction, it is necessary to weld anchor components and leave expansion joints. This method may cause damage to the kiln body when replacing the lining material.
If a combination of refractory prefabricated components and castable materials is used for masonry, it is a good solution. After low-temperature sintering, refractory prefabricated components can further improve the service life of the kiln lining. When making refractory prefabricated components, there are steel bars at the back, which can be directly welded to the kiln body. The remaining parts can be welded with anchors, which can be directly poured into the castable materials without the need for formwork support. This construction method is much more convenient than using all pouring materials. But this plan will cause the pouring material area to fall off, and welding anchors and refractory prefabricated parts will also cause damage to the kiln body.
