Fire Resistance Of Refractory Soil And Refractory Cement

Jan 15, 2024

Refractory soil, also known as clay refractory soil, is a type of soil used for furnace lining. It is a weakly acidic refractory material with good thermal stability and is suitable for building hot air furnaces, various boiler linings, as well as flue and smoke chambers.

Refractory cement is a material used to manufacture refractory castables, with a fire resistance of not less than 1580 ° C. According to their composition, they can be divided into aluminate cement, low calcium aluminate, calcium magnesium aluminate, and dolomite. If refractory cement is used alone, many cracks will occur after high temperature, and this should be noted.

Refractory cement and refractory soil are both types of refractory materials. Refractory cement has a fire resistance of 1300 degrees and has high strength after setting, with a grade of 625. It is mainly mixed with bauxite aggregates to equip refractory concrete with high fire resistance. Refractory soil has a fire resistance of 1000 degrees and has no strength after setting, only providing a certain bonding effect. Refractory soil is generally used for building refractory bricks or pasting furnace walls.

If refractory cement and refractory soil are used together, the value of refractory cement will be small, just like mixing refractory cement and loess for reuse, the setting strength and grade of refractory cement will decrease significantly.
