Heat resistant steel fibers with a length of 20-35mm are added to the refractory aggregate,the castable in the mixture composed of binder and admixture is called steel fiber castable.It can inhibit the shrinkage generated during the use of primary high temperature in curing and oven drying, improve the toughness, mechanical impact and mechanical strength of castable, and the thermal shock resistance of castable added with steel fiber is also relatively improved to prevent fracture or spalling. Steel fibers are mostly crescent shaped. This kind of steel fiber can increase the contact area with the castable and increase the friction force, which is easy to be evenly dispersed in the castable matrix. The products are mainly used in industrial kilns where refractory materials are required to have good spalling and impact resistance, such as cement rotary kiln mouth, cooler, coal injection pipe, etc.
