What Are The Advantages Of Clay Brick And Its Difference From Mullite Light Brick

Feb 17, 2020

Clay brick is often used in our life. Now there are many kinds of bricks. The performance of each brick is different. Next, I will introduce the advantages of clay brick and the difference between clay brick and mullite light brick!

一, Advantages of clay brick

1. It is a kind of weak acid refractory, which has a certain corrosion resistance to acid slag and is widely used. It is also a kind of refractory with the largest production at present.

2. The price is cheap, because it takes the refractory clay as the main raw material, its production cost will be much lower than that of other materials.

3. Low fire resistance can be used in places where high temperature furnaces do not belong to high temperature zone or other unimportant parts.

二, Difference between mullite light brick and clay light brick

1. Raw material manufacturing difference

Light mullite brick is a kind of light refractory brick with mullite phase, which is made of high-purity refractory powder as refractory material and sintered at high temperature after special process proportion. Aluminum content between 50-80%

Light clay brick is made of fire-resistant clay by sintering at 1000 ℃ with a certain process ratio. The aluminum content is between 30-35%.

2. Use temperature difference

The lightweight mullite brick has mullite phase, its use temperature is about 1500 ℃, it can contact flame directly, it has good thermal shock stability, low heat conduction and low heat capacity;

Light clay brick can't be used as lining of contacting flame surface directly. It is generally used in combination with aluminum silicate cotton and heavy refractory brick. The service temperature of light clay refractory brick should be no more than 1000 ℃;

3. The light clay brick shall be used for the heat insulation layer or permanent layer of industrial furnace, and shall not contact with slag or molten substance. If it contacts with molten substance, the temperature shall not be higher than 1000 ℃.

4. Same specific gravity

The proportion of lightweight mullite brick and lightweight clay brick is the same, which are 0.6, 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2.

5. Performance difference

In terms of performance, the high temperature volume of lightweight mullite brick is more stable than that of lightweight clay brick.

6. Index difference

From the index point of view, the mullite brick with the same volume density and light clay brick, mullite brick in aluminum content, use temperature higher than light clay brick, other performance indicators are different.

7. Price difference

In terms of price, the price of light mullite brick is much higher than that of light clay brick.
