During electric furnace smelting, a sintering layer is formed at the contact part between the filler at the tapping port and molten steel, which prevents the molten steel from penetrating downward. The unsintered filler under the sintering layer can flow out smoothly when the support plate is opened by tapping, and the sintering layer is washed by the pressure of molten steel to achieve the purpose of automatic pouring. After tapping, the filler is put into the EBT platform. During tapping, the filler at the tapping port can automatically flow out from the tapping port to make the molten steel flow into the ladle, and the automatic pouring rate can reach more than 95%

As for raw materials of tap hole filler, firstly, it should be considered that the sintering layer can be broken during rapid cooling. Secondly, the type and addition amount of sintering agent, particle size and shape, and the type and addition amount of reducing agent should be determined to adjust the sintering layer climate and physical properties
