After heating to 1350 ℃ under normal pressure, the raw material of andalusite is transformed into needle shaped mullite. The conversion process has low thermal expansion rate, stable volume, and improved non shrinkage performance.
Red pillared high alumina bricks are often used in different parts of blast furnaces and hot blast stoves, as well as in the anti rapid cooling and anti erosion parts of hot metal tanks. This is because andalusite high alumina bricks have the following good characteristics: high fire resistance, fire resistance above 1800 ℃, less impurities, minimal decrease in high-temperature strength, resistance to rapid cooling and heating, high mechanical strength, strong thermal shock resistance, strong slag resistance, high load softening point, and excellent chemical stability.
