Composition And Dosage Of Slurry For High Alumina Brick Masonry

Mar 07, 2025

The refractory slurry used for high alumina bricks is composed of refractory fine aggregates and binders, which are mixed with liquid binders in a certain proportion to form slurry with different viscosities. The refractory temperature and chemical composition of the refractory mortar used in masonry refractory products should be compatible with the refractoriness and chemical composition of the refractory products used. The prepared refractory slurry for high alumina bricks should have a certain bonding strength at room temperature, high high-temperature bending and shear strength, low high-temperature shrinkage, good air tightness, and good construction performance.
The refractory mortar used for modulating high alumina bricks should follow the following principles.
① Before laying high alumina bricks, various refractory slurries should be pre tested and pre laid to determine the bonding time, initial setting time, viscosity, and water consumption of different slurries.
② Different tools should be used to prepare different compositions of mud, and they should be cleaned in a timely manner.
③ To mix different types of mud, clean water should be used, the amount of water should be accurately measured, the mixing should be uniform, and it should be used as needed.
The pre prepared hydraulic and pneumatic mud shall not be used with water, and the mud that has already set shall not be continued to be used.
④ When preparing the mud, it is necessary to ensure the specified trapping time and adjust it as needed. The already prepared mud should not be diluted with water arbitrarily.
The construction performance of the slurry used for laying high growth bricks is mainly manifested in its spreading, smoothing, water loss, and plasticity. Generally, the water retention time of mud is used to identify its construction performance. The requested water retention time is the time when the mud is mixed to an appropriate consistency and spread on the brick surface with a trowel to a certain thickness, and its moisture is absorbed by the brick surface. Generally, it is 1? 2 minutes is recommended, as being too long or too short is not conducive to operation. After the mud is damaged and mixed. There should be no precipitation or segregation when storing M for a short period of time.
Mud name Mud composition (mass fraction)/% Mud required per brick/Kg Mud dry material water consumption/L; The number of bricks per cubic meter of masonry in m-3/block of high alumina bricks using slurry high alumina refractory slurry 1000.27400-600550 phosphate high alumina bricks using slurry high alumina clinker powder 100 appropriate amount of industrial phosphoric acid (85%) 16%~18% water 15%~24%.
There are the following suggestions for laying high alumina bricks:
High alumina brick lining is divided into four categories based on the size of the brick joints and the degree of precision in operation. Its category and brick joint size are: Class I ≤ 0.5mm; Class II ≤ 1mm; Class III ≤ 2mm; Class IV ≤ 3mm. The mortar joints in the brick joints should be full of clay, and the brick joints between the upper, lower, inner, and outer layers should be staggered.
What should be done if refractory materials crack, fall off, and are prone to wear and tear? To solve problems, it is necessary to dig from the root and analyze the real reasons. Rongsheng Refractory has been engaged in refractory production and research and development services for many years, and can solve various difficult problems of high-temperature kiln lining. Welcome new and old friends to consult and exchange technology.
