Machine press molding is a molding method commonly used for refractory products, which belongs to semi dry molding. The moisture content of blank is 4-6%, the critical particle size is 2-5mm, and the content of fine powder less than 0.1mm is 35-45%, so as to maximize the bulk density as much as possible.
Forming equipment is generally friction press and hydraulic press. When using the friction press to press the brick, the operation plan of light first and then heavy should be observed, which is conducive to the accumulation of the blank and the discharge of air in the blank. The quality of the brick can be guaranteed by controlling the pressurization times and the maximum impact force.
The simple method to check the quality of formed brick is to determine the density, porosity, size and whether there is spallation phenomenon. If the density, porosity and size are within the control range and there is no spalling, the brick is qualified.
